First thing you want to do is get the latest firmware on it. It *really* improves performance. Especially with the camera.

Get a free copy of opera mini 4.1. Browsing is (generally) faster

Now that Nokia plans to include built in Geo-Tagging for selected devices [e.g. N78] this application is being shevled and will get no more updates. It however is quite stable and works well already. The latest release includes:
Persistent log. Now when you exit the application, your list of images in your logs tab will not disappear. When you delete an image from the Gallery of File Manager, the item will also be removed from the logs tag.
File renaming. There is additional option in the Settings menu to rename tagged file. The file name will be added _NLT as suffix. For example, if the original file name is image001.jpg, it will be renamed to image001_NLT.jpg. This feature will allow you to easily differentiate between tagged and non-tagged files.
Get location from cache. As you may know from our last posting that Location Tagger tags pictures with the last known position in the last 1 hour. If there is no last known position, it will put pictures in the queue until time-out. We added a new feature that allows you to get location from GPS device’s cache.
Optimization and some bug fixes. This new version should run relatively faster than the previous one.

http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/item/How_to_Get_push_GMail_for_free.phpMagic codes:
*#0000# To view Firmware version.
*#06# (*#0M#) To view Serial number, IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity).
*#2820# (*#BTA0#) To view Bluetooth device address.
*#62209526# (*#MAC0WLAN) To view the MAC address of the WLAN adapter. This is maybe necessary for wlan encrypted setup.
*#92702689# (*#WAR0ANTY#) To view the life timer information. This is the total time of phone calls in minutes.
Warning : All old data will be lost when hard reset is used. Ive not tested tthe codes below take no responsibility for any problems arrising from using them.
Soft reset (*#7780#) : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc). The phone will ask you a confirmation, enter a security code (12345 by default)
Deep Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten. The phone will ask you a confirmation and enter a security code (12345 by default)
There is another key combination which is used to hard reset the phone (similar to #*7370#). It is useful in some cases, for example when the phone cannot reboot. The trick is by switching off the phone then press and hold Call key (Green key) + * key + 3 key + power button for a couple of seconds.
*0# If you want to know when someone has received your text message on their phone use this code start your message with *0# This is similar to "Delivery Reports" feature available on most phones but you will receive a details text rather than a confirmation note on screen. It will not show up on their message and a text will be sent to your phone when it has arrived in theirs. Best to leave a space before you start your first word in the message. You wont know when they read the message but you will know when they received it!
SHAZAM! - if you already use shazam, then great, if not, you probably will in future - dial 2580 and point your phone at some music. Shortly after, you get a text telling you what the song is! Perfect for cheating at pub quizzes or working out what a song is on tv/radio/etc. it costs about 60p a time, but they now have software to install on your phone that uses the data connection instead!
http://s60.mobi/mgp/events/s60/vodafone/shazam.html - although I tried it today, and it said it was expired. You should be able to pick it up from www.shazam.com - as far as I know, its free to install.
And my personal favourite. I liked the program so much I went and bought it yesterday - GUARDIAN. It lets you secure your phone so that if you lose it or it is stolen you can control it remotely, and even use the GPS to locate its whereabouts!
Info and link to buy it cheap (full version works out at around £11)
